Help: Journal Record

The Journal Record page enables you to view bibliographic details for each journal and lists articles included in Periodicals Archive Online by issue. You can view a journal record by clicking the journal title on the article full record, Journal Record Search Results or Find Journals pages. You can also view the contents of the relevant issue by clicking the issue number link in an article citation.

Where available, journal records contain the following information:

All full text journals will have a [more information] link next to the Publisher field. Clicking on this link will display the Publisher Information page. This page will contain information about the Publisher e.g. the name, address and website URL, as well as a list of journals published by that publisher to which the current user has access in Periodicals Archive Online.

OpenURL Outbound Links

Institutions which operate an OpenURL-compatible link resolver, and which have chosen to do so, may activate outbound links to such a service from journal records in Periodicals Archive Online. These links will appear as buttons or text links - the format of which is determined by the subscribing institution and their behaviour will be dependent upon the link resolver used and its configuration.

List of Issues

An expandable list of issues included in Periodicals Archive Online follows the journal record. Click on the plus (+) icon next to an issue to view a list of the articles included in that issue. Only one issue can be expanded at any one time.

By default the list of issues is presented in chronological order. To view the list in reverse chronological order, click the appropriate link at the top of the list of issues.

Individual article information is displayed in the same format as on the Article Search Results page.

You can add an entry to the Marked List page from the list of articles by clicking the relevant checkbox. You can click the Marked List link at the top of the page to view the current entries in your Marked List.

You can click the Bookmark this item link to obtain the durable url for the relevant entry or save it to a social bookmarking site.
